Coatings For Industry's materials are directed at use in aggressive environments. The majority of coatings manufactured by CFI are heavy duty industrial organic coatings that air dry or chemically react to form a coating film. However, they also have formulated and patented inorganic sacrificial corrosion and oxidation resistant coatings for protection of ferrous alloys. These are applied using standard paint spray equipment at 0.5 to 3 mil dry film thickness and are used at temperatures up to 620° C (1150° F). These products find most use on gas turbines in electric power plants and on aircraft engines in both commercial and military use.

New generation of abrasion resistant water base coatings for aircraft engine propeller blades, directed at lowering VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) and improving the ease of application are being developed.
