The basic PTA equipment for powder hardfacing requires:

• Two stage  power source, direct current - electrode negative (DC-EN), to supply the arcs;

• PTA torch to  weld the filler material in a powder or wire form;

• Powder Dispenser to feed powders to the welding  torch;

• Wire Feeder

• Water cooler  to remove the heat from the critical parts (anodic nozzle mainly);

• Positioner/manipulator  for workpiece/torch movement;

• Welding  accessories, such as torch oscillator, argon gas  cylinders, welding cables, anodic nozzles,  tungsten electrodes, shielding devices, and others.
